May 2014

May's topic will be "The Bilingual Developer - iOS and Android" presented by Tim Crowley

Meeting Overview:
The mobile market has seen an explosion in development and innovation over the past several years. And although there were several initial players, the market has consolidated around two key platforms - iOS and Android.

Although these operating systems have many similarities, the development environments are significantly different. In this introductory presentation, Tim will compare and contrast the platforms, and provide guidance on how to minimize the amount of rework that's required when developing for them.

Speaker Bio
Tim Crowley has been developing software for most of his life, although he's been doing it professionally for 20 years. Tim primarily works on Java applications, but has developed a passion for mobile apps, and is currently published on both the iOS and Android app stores. When not developing software, Tim spends time with his kids fishing and (poorly) skateboarding.
